If one sees a tennis ball on a walk and the dog wants to pick it up, most people wouldn’t think twice about it. Now, several news outlets are warning that tennis balls may contain bombs. WKYC.com warned viewers to be wary. These devices can harm humans as well as dogs. The balls have tiny explosives that act like a homemade firecracker. They might be more prevalent on the 4th of July weekend.

KCTV out of Kansas City also sent warnings to its viewers. While some of the devices are very dangerous, others may appear to be duds. But even the duds can be dangerous. A dog biting them could be enough to set them off, badly injuring or even killing the dog. So when walking with your canine best friend this holiday weekend, watch the ground. Don’t let your dog play with any strange toys.
